Beautiful Mornings and Blue Jays

I think I wore the kids out before 11am today!

Ben learned to ride a two-wheeler this past weekend, so he's all about riding his bike. Since we have my nephew on Mondays and Tuesdays, we generally stay home. This morning, however, it was too beautiful not to get out and about! We loaded up the wagon, strapped on the helmets, and headed to the park.

I LOVE that we live within walking distance to Fancyburg park. The freedom we have with homeschooling allowed us to spend our morning outdoors. We played, we read a "walking book", we met some new doggie friends, we played music, and spent time observing and listening to the different birds.

Once we made it home we set up our "school" outside. We decided that in addition to our handwriting worksheets, we would do our nature journal and learn a bit more about the blue jay we saw at the park. He was beautiful!

After we were done with "school", the kids got to work making dandelion soup! All-in-all, it was a great morning. They were completely wiped out by the afternoon (and a tad grumpy... haha! Can't have it all)!
